About the Event

Take a guided tour through the Longmeadow Cemetery with a Longmeadow Historical Society board member who will discuss the history of the burying ground and illustrate the art of the gravestones; explain symbolism on the gravestones; discuss some of the known gravestone carvers; point out some of the town’s revolutionary soldiers; and identify causes of death.


This is a special daytime small group event sponsored by the Longmeadow Historical Society. Tickets should be purchased in advance. Walk-ins are welcome– if space allows. Tours are appropriate for guests aged 12 and up. The ground will be uneven, please dress accordingly. Two dates and times are available. Meet at the west end of the cemetery (near the Church). Tours last 50 to 60 minutes.
